Trichotillomania or TTM – Why do you suffer and what can you do about it?

We see clients with Trichotillomania every day. It’s a common and treatable feature of a high anxiety condition.

I also had ‘control mechanisms in place… just like your hair pulling but focused on other actions… I used to ‘smooth’ my hair, pinch myself, bight the inside of my mouth, seive drinks through my teeth, hum noises… in fact many compulsive ritausl… just like your TTM.

Many sufferers aren’t as extreme as I was, agreed, but having said that, in the thousands of clients I have helped, many have been EXACTLY like that.

Are the ‘worst’ cases the hardest to help?
