Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Have you been told that OCD is depression related?
Have you been told that OCD is incurable?
Have you been told that OCD causes anxiety?

Let me explain the physiological and psychological truth about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

1 - OCD is not associated with clinical depression
2 - OCD does not cause anxiety - OCD is caused BY anxiety
3 - OCD is a disorder of the emotion of fear not a disorder of anxiety
4 - Anxiety IS a disorder of the emotion of fear
5 - OCD is a result of anxiety causing over-production of risk assessments
6 - Risk assessments (What if thoughts) are produced by the fear response
7 - OCD is removed by eliminating the anxiety that drives it
8 - Once recovered, OCD sufferers do not suffer in future

Despite what you may have been told, OCD can be very quickly erased.

You do not need and will not be cured by:

Talking therapy
Medication
NLP
EMDR
EFT (Tapping)
CBT
Counselling

How do we know? Because we have helped 214,000 people over the last two decades and our research, experience and data shows that no one with anxiety has ever been cured by those treatments.

How does OCD form?

OCD forms when a person with a predisposition to developing an anxiety disorder creates 'what if' risk assessments around a specific subject in the absence of real danger.

Anxiety disorders create false reality, fictions born of the anxious mind. Anxiety (fear) causes the mind to generate risk assessments but in OCD, these become anxious fixations and compulsions (actions).

What are the symptoms of anxiety disorder?

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can focus on many 'subject matters' but the most common are:

- Contamination
- Health and illness
- Light switching / Tap turning (Checking)
- Checking locks and security
- Checking oneself for illness
- Tidying / ordering
- Counting / word mind games
- Touching repetitively
- Avoidance such as eating, writing, speaking in public
- Humming / singing
- Not touching things such as doorknobs

This list is not exhaustive but indicative of some of the many thousands of manifestations of OCD we have encountered.

Pure O conditions such as HOCD, POCD and ROCD are also common. These manifest as fixations on specific subject matter but give rise to obsessive thoughts without the compulsions.

HOCD fixates on 'what if I am gay?' or in the case of gay people 'what if I am straight?'
POCD focuses on 'what if I am a Pedophile?'
ROCD on 'what if there is no god?'

There are other forms of OCD and Pure O but too many to mention on a single webpage.

We have worked with clients who check behind postage stamps, drive hundreds of miles to check for tools left on water towers 20 years previously, who have obsessed about having harmed someone whilst at school, over thirty years ago.

OCD can focus on any life issue, event or object - it is totally indiscriminate.

People with OCD are often told they have mental illness or depression but less us please assure and reassure you that OCD is not anything to do with brain injury, chemical imbalance or trauma; it is a symptom of a high anxiety condition and we have helped thousands to erase it completely.
